Only the US has a bigger aerospace industry than Scotland. Lanarkshire, alone has 15 aerospace companies, employing 1,700 people in roles that include a heavy emphasis in R&D, long-term relationships and trans-national co operation. A workforce figure that equates to 13% of total employment in the Scottish Aerospace Industry.
This sort of work cannot be done everywhere. It takes a workforce that is educated, skilled and committed and Rolls Royce, MB Aerospace Ltd and Nallatech all found it here. Lanarkshire has more than half a century's experience in aerospace. That is impressive.
