Building Standards Team 

Our aim is to ensure that buildings in North Lanarkshire comply with building regulations. We do this by processing building warrant applications, inspecting building works and verifying submitted completion certificates.

The Building Standards Team also:

• inspects and assesses dangerous buildings; providing an out of office hours emergency call out service.
• offers a building standards enquiry system that includes a search and copy document service that can be used during property transactions.
• provides the street naming and numbering service for North Lanarkshire Council.
• undertakes licensing inspections of public houses, places of public entertainment, football stadia and houses in multiple occupation.

We cooperate with construction businesses to ensure that their work complies with our standards.  We also work closely with all other North Lanarkshire businesses to ensure that their premises are safe and compliant.  Please feel free to contact us using the details on the right.

• Technical Handbooks - Domestic/Non-Domestic - These technical handbooks provide guidance on achieving the standards set in the Building (Scotland) Regulations 2004 and are available in two volumes, for Domestic buildings and for Non-domestic buildings.
