30th Jan 2008 - Eurocentral builds on its relationship with Bowmer & Kirkland

Pioneer House at Eurocentral

Bowmer & Kirkland, one of the UK's largest privately owned construction, engineering and development groups is to establish a Scottish presence at the Eurocentral business park, on the M8 corridor between Glasgow and Edinburgh.

 

The construction business will move into a 324 sq m (3,487 sq ft) office on the ground floor of Pioneer House and has taken a 15 year lease.

 

Bowmer & Kirkland's move to Eurocentral's follows hard on the heels of the construction firm's contract to build the recently launched 756,000 sq ft Maxim business park, located on the 650 acre site. The £130 million contract is also Bowmer & Kirkland's largest contract to date.

 

Karen Campbell, chief executive of Maxim, who is responsible for letting both the Europoint and new Maxim office park at Eurocentral, said: "Bowmer & Kirkland's decision to locate its first Scottish office at Eurocentral is excellent news and reinforces the message that Eurocentral is an attractive location for businesses seeking to relocate.

Initially 15 staff aew due to move to Pioneer House at the end of February.

 

The construction firm has recently completed a £50m project to build new headquarters for BP in Aberdeen, a new £18m call centre facility for Norwich Union at Bishopbriggs and is currently completing an Express by Holiday Inn at Edinburgh's Royal Mile.

 

Bowmer & Kirkland, which has three regional offices and head offices in Derby, has been ranked 51st in The Sunday Times KPMG Top Track 100 list of Britain's biggets private companies and employs over 1,500 people throughout the UK.

 

The Maxim office park development at Eurocentral in Lanarkshire is set to be Scotland's largest ever speculative build business park, with over 756,000 sq ft of office space. Maxim is due to be completed within two and a half years and is expected to create over 7000 new jobs for Lanarkshire.
