A few lucky people will be able to get the chance to learn more about world class animation, filming, game and creative image design from the experts if they apply early for a free ticket.  The ticket will allow them access to a spectacular all day showcase event at Motherwell College on 26 May 2010.

As well as being able to attend the Filmcraft and Animation event, ticket holders will be able to view past and present students' artwork and talk to staff and industry experts who will be attending.  There will be an exhibition, workshops and an opportunity to visit the College animation suite and see - or try your hand with - the state-of-the-art equipment available for students.

Industry experts present will be from:

  • BAFTA winners Axis Animation
  • Red Kite
  • Film Director & BAFTA nominee Marc de Launay
  • Peter Broughton, Producer of Oscar-nominated Rob Roy who also worked on the legendary Tutti Fruiti
  • Freelance animators, storyboard artists & illustrators

A previous similar event held at the College attracted more than 500 people!

In addition, former Motherwell College students who are now achieving top industry accolades, will be present - back to spread the word about the quality of the education you can benefit from attending there.

One former HND Filmcraft and Animation student - John Rae, won the 2009 Celtic Media Award, Best Student Drama - Uncle Fergus and the Scottish Royal Television Society, Best Undergraduate Drama - Uncle Fergus.

Current HNC Filmcraft and Animation student Gary Welsh has done so well that some of his published comic book artwork and illustrations have merited a personal exhibition and sale.  This will be hosted from 9.00am to 7.00pm on Wednesday 26th May by Ross Quinn Photografix at their studios in Motherwell.  Entry is free.
