26th Oct 2007 - Lanarkshire's treasured place

Cumbernauld town centre is expected to be named as one of Scotland's most treasured places.

 

The Lanarkshire town has been the subject of much controversy and a past winner of the infamous Carbuncle award but 100 images of landmarks and monuments were put out to a public vote and organisers say there have been a few suprises amongst the favourites.

 

The overall winner will be announced in December.
