Youthstart is a South Lanarkshire Council service offering advice and support to young people aged 16-25 who are homeless and living in Children's Units or Supported Accommodation to get into work, education or training opportunities available in local and surrounding areas. Youthstart clients may also have recently secured tenancies but still be at risk of homelessness.
Youthstart staff advocate and support participants to make links with statutory agencies, colleges, training providers and suitable job opportunities.
Youthstart staff will:
- provide advice, guidance and support on options
- offer support that is individually tailored to meet participant requirements
- signposting to relevant agencies and services to meet participants needs
- assist participants with interview preparation and attendance
